The basic low-down...

US Marshall Teddy Daniels (Dicaprio) and his partner Chuck (Mark Ruffalo) go to Shutter Island to investigate the disappearance of the dangerous murderer that is Rachel Solando, who has escaped from a hospital for the mentally and criminally insane. Daniels sets out to find the missing woman, but is he searching for the right patient?
What's right with it?..
Shutter Island has to be one of the best films i have seen in a long time, i haven't liked a film this much since 'The Dark Knight', and i LOVED that film. Leonardo DiCaprio's acting was superb and his emotions set us up for the roller coaster ride of events through out the film. award winning director Martin Scorsese produced a beauty of a film. The movie is packed with thrilling ordeals and enticing moments that will keep you guessing right until the big finale of an ending. everything about this film is done with great work, the editing, cinematography, everything is just so polished. i definitely advise you to watch this film if you like Gothic thrillers that keep your nerves on edge right til the end!


What's Wrong with it?..
Shutter Island could come across as slightly confusing and you need to keep on the ball if you want to understand the happenings. i warn you not to watch it with someone who will ask constantly obvious questions throughout ... Sometimes the events didn't seem to match up but in the end everything strung together perfectly. I found it an even better watch second time round as you notice things that didn't seem to have any significance the fist time.

Get out there quick and buy Shutter island! if you know a good movie when you see one then i can almost guarantee you will enjoy this film from start to finish.
